The Callisto Protocol werd tijdens The Game Awards in december 2020 aangekondigd. Sindsdien is er niets meer van het spel vernomen. Ook nu zijn nog maar weinig details. Wel is bekend dat het spel zich in de toekomst afspeelt op een gevangeniskolonie op Callisto, een maan van Jupiter. Schofield is overigens geen onbekende in het horror-genre: hij heeft voorheen aan de Dead Space-reeks gewerkt.
The Callisto Protocol moet uitkomen op PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X en S en pc. Een releasedatum is nog niet bekend.
